Applications of Diamond Micron Powder
Diamond micro powder is a type of ultra-hard and ultra-fine abrasive formed by the processing of artificial diamond single crystal through a special process. It is an ideal raw material for grinding and polishing hard alloys, ceramics, gemstones, optical glass and other high-hardness materials. What is diamond micron powder?
Diamond micron powder refers to diamond particles with a particle size finer than 60 microns. Traditional diamond powder can be divided into two categories, polycrystalline diamond powder and single crystal diamond powder. With the rapid development of nanotechnology, a new type of diamond-like micro powder has emerged independently from the original two major diamond-like micropowders: nano-diamond micropowder.

What are the main applications of diamond micro powder?
1. As abrasive
Because the grinding capacity of diamond is 1.25 times larger than that of cubic boron nitride, 2.85 to 3.57 times larger than that of silicon carbide, and 6.25 to 7.14 times larger than that of white corundum. Therefore, as a super-hard abrasive, diamond micron powder has an extremely superior grinding ability. It is mainly used as fine grinding or polishing of various precision components in industry, science and medicine; manufacture of resin-bonded tools, metal-bonded tools and electroplating tools; as fine abrasives for mold processing, gemstone polishing. The processing and manufacturing of gemstone bearings is applied in three aspects.
2. As a functional material
Because of its thermal and electrical properties, it has become the main raw material for the manufacturing of polycrystalline diamond sintered bodies, such as geology, oil drill bits, cutting tools, wire drawing dies, etc. A new material with improved thermal conductivity and reduced thermal expansion can be made by mixing diamond micro powder into thermosetting resin polymer, cellulose, phenolic resin or ceramic sheet.
3. Preparation of nanocomposite structural materials
Combining nano-scale diamond with nano-silicon powder, nano-ceramics and various nano-metals can produce new nano-structured materials. Because of its unique properties, it can be used to manufacture semiconductor devices, integrated circuit components and microcomputer parts.
