Henan Huanghe Whirlwind Co., Ltd. has successfully passed the review for the national sixth batch of manufacturing single champion enterprises, further consolidating its technological leadership and industry influence in the field of superhard materials.

In 2021, Huanghe Whirlwind was recognized as a sixth-batch manufacturing single champion enterprise for its “pre-alloyed powder for diamond tools” project. In accordance with the unified deployment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology conducted a review and public announcement for the third and sixth batches of manufacturing single champion enterprises in Henan Province from October 28 to November 3, 2025. Since 2006, Huanghe Whirlwind has continuously dedicated efforts to the research, development, and production of pre-alloyed powder for diamond tools. Collaborating with multiple domestic research institutions and universities, the company focused on core water atomization system technology and successfully developed a process for producing pre-alloyed powder via water atomization. This process effectively addresses key technical challenges such as high oxygen content in metal powders, insufficient apparent density, and weak matrix holding force on diamonds. It has achieved a leap in the comprehensive performance of pre-alloyed powder for diamond tools: the input-output rate of pre-alloyed powder increased from 60%-70% to 90%-95%, oxygen content is stably controlled below 400 ppm, and the diamond tools produced exhibit a 15%-25% improvement in sharpness and service life compared to tools made from single-metal powders of the same composition. The overall performance meets the standards of international high-end metal powder products.

Manufacturing single champion enterprises refer to companies that have long focused on specific niche product markets, possess internationally leading production technologies or processes, and rank among the top globally in market share for their single products. In 2017, Huanghe Whirlwind led the formulation of the industry standard “Water-Atomized Iron-Copper Pre-alloyed Powder for Diamond Tools” (JB/T 13308-2017), further guiding the industry’s technological development. Currently, the company holds a 20% market share for such products internationally and 23% domestically, ranking first in the industry.
